For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me... (Matthew 25:35)
Hope Foodbank was started by Joanne Ellis, our Hope Cafe Manager who discovered people's needs through the conversations and relationships built up with Hope Cafe users. Hope Foodbank started as a kitchen cupboard which was filled with food that could be given out discreetly during Hope Cafe sessions when need arose.
There is no one type of person or family who is in need of such help. It can be an unexpected bill or illness that creates the need.
We have expanded the work of the foodbank, especially while the effects of the pandemic are being felt. We now have large reserves and funding to be able to support families on a regular basis.
You don't need to be referred to us to make use of the foodbank and we will take you at your word for what you need.
If you would like support then please text or call Joanne on 07365225499 to arrange a collection from the church.
